Evolution of Land Use and Planning Legislation

Since 1994, the South African government has adopted various measures to address the distorted urban space that resulted from apartheid planning and development, and, and to transform urban areas to reflect a developmental democratic state. These measures include planning and developmental policies, and revisions to legislation.
